About Us
Otley Brass Band is a traditional Brass Band based in Otley, a town at the eastern end of
the Wharfe Valley in North Yorkshire. Founded in 1973 we are proud to be at the heart of the local
community. We perform a regular series of concerts throughout the year ranging from summer afternoon
music in the region's parks to evening concerts. All our engagements are
advertised on this web site and
information can also be found from the local press and from posters which are displayed in the surrounding area.
If you are a player of a Brass Instrument (or percussion) looking for a friendly local Band then please contact one of the committee at the contact numbers shown at the bottom of this page.
We can assure you of a warm welcome and a vibrant Band spirit. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings between 7.30 and 10.00
at the Otley Courthouse.
If you are looking to engage a local band to perform at a function then please do not hesitate to contact Rachel Nelson, our secretary
who will be happy to discuss your requirements and to help make your event a success.
We hope you enjoy Brass Band music as much as us and look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts in the near future!
Thank you for visiting our website,

Gordon Eddison - Conductor
The band has been extremely fortunate to obtain the services of Gordon Eddison, to be our new Musical Director. Gordon is a local resident (Burley-in-Wharfedale) with extensive experience of the brass band world, including having played with many top line bands such as Hammonds Sauce Works, Yorkshire Imperial Metals and the famous Black Dyke Band.
Following a career in the police, Gordon now works as a peripatetic brass teacher in local schools and we hope that his local influence will encourage younger players into the brass band world. The presence of a new musical director has already brought a new sense of purpose to the band, together with some excitingly different music.
