Instrument Renewal Project

Founded in 1973, Otley Brass Band is at the heart of the community, providing enjoyment to both members and audiences in Otley and the surrounding areas. In addition to formal concerts the band has been active in supporting local events such as:

The band has also been active in trying to encourage young people to continue or take up music. The band has performed concerts with Prince Henry's Grammar School and also participated in a demonstration of brass instruments and music at Westgate Primary School.

However, many of our instruments have seen better days, and the band is committed  to replacing these wherever possible. Replacing instruments will allow us to continue providing high quality music for the community. It will also allow us to retain a number of "spare" instruments; these will be used as instruments for new players, particularly young players, to use if they do not have their own instrument.

It is estimated that to replace instruments for the whole band would cost in the region of £30,000 and we are exploring a number of avenues to raise the necessary funding. If you feel that you would like to make a donation to the fund, we would be extremely grateful. Any donations will be used exclusively for instrument renewal and will not go towards the day to day running of the band.
